Aspirant rapper Kevin Federline’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan has hinted that he is set to move forward with his client’s custody battle, saying that pop diva Britney Spears may have her deposition in the case early next year.

Spears had missed her initial deposition appearance on December 12, citing physical illness and anxiety as the reasons.

Kaplan dismissed Britney’s reasons as mere excuses, saying that she was rather out the whole day and night.

“Kevin isn’t interested, nor am I, in punishing her. We just want to get information necessary to proceed further. I am hoping remedies which include continuing hearings are all theoretical.” People quoted Kaplan as saying.

He also slammed the tabloid rumors that the couple’s kids-Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1-would undergo drug testing.

“I haven’t even heard about that, and I don’t think that is true. In fact, the boys have been enjoying a wonderful holiday season. It was a good Christmas for all,” he said

“They were great. Kevin had all of his kids and it was a big, wonderful family setting. He was really happy, and the kids were happy,” he added.

The attorney also expressed hope that Britney would appear the next time she is called for her deposition.

With the type of year the former international sex symbol had, it wasn’t exactly a close race for this award. When a living, breathing train wreck like Britney Spears is in the news every hour of every day, everyone else is playing for second.

Since filing for divorce from Kevin Federline at the end of 2006, Britney’s life has been in a tailspin, resulting in countless traffic incidents, custody hearings, photos of her clubbing in no underwear, family drama, and random ass dudes and pals.

From Isaac Cohen, Jason Filyaw, Daimon Shippen, Tony Barretto, Alli Sims, Sam Lutfi and Howie Day to Mark Vincent Kaplan, Robert Edie, J.R. Rotem, Lucy Walsh and some celebrity gossip photographer named Adnan, the list of once anonymous peeps Spears has brought into her life - and our site - continues to grow.

As far as her family life goes, well, that’s been no less turbulent. Aside from the two adorable little mistakes - Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1 - that she routinely neglects, Britney has been estranged from her mother, Lynne Spears, for much of the year. Oh, and 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn Spears recently got pregnant.

It seems Brit is eager to show the world that she really can act. According to a report, she’s in talks with a movie studio to star in a new film called
“Memoirs of a Medicated Child.”
Do you remember her previous experience in acting. It was the mediocre acting “Crossroads”. What more could we expect from a film that’s advertised as “The Britney Spears movie”? Not even Dan Akroyd can save this piece of tripe. The film implies that she actually has talent by showing her writing a song. Can Britney act? Compared to good young actresses, Britney is fairly amateurish. But she didn’t have to stretch very far for the role of a proper, studious high school valedictorian who decided to look for her mother who abandoned her as a baby to be raised by her single father (Ackroyd). And, along the way write poetry which was then put to music by a young man who drove the three girls west to Los Angeles.

It was six years ago. Britney is already young mother with two children. She has other interests in her life. Very likely she associates herself with the heroine of new film?
The film’s director, Tommy Parker, told press that they’re in
negotiations. “As far as Britney’s concerned, we’re talking.”
But, Tommy Parker watched the film “Crossroad” and he knows Britney as an actress. And may be he only wants to support a young woman and give her a chance. But it does not mean that Britney will get the main part in this film.how can we understand that before Brit, the film’s producers had their sights set on Lindsay Lohan for the lead role.

“I think, God’s honest truth, I think she’s a great person. I really do,” Ghalib said. “She’s young. … She’s never made the best choices in friends, even her relationships.”

When it comes to Spears and her relationships, Ghalib has some expertise. He’s been a frequent chronicler of her antics, and earlier this week, Ghalib was photographed holding Spears’ hand and disappearing with her inside a hotel for an hour or two. Ghalib says they were just having lunch — lunch at 4 a.m. after a typically chaotic night on the Brit beat.

“It’s unfortunate that she is the way she is because of the people she surrounds herself with,” said Ghalib. “She’s easily influenced, and that’s where her bad choices come from.”

To those unfamiliar with the netherworld of caught-on-video celebrity misadventure, the brief clip repeated everywhere of Spears stealing a lighter from a gas station might not seem like all that much.

To the man who shot it, though, it was all in a hard day’s work … and it was a gold mine. “We’d been out driving for about six hours and I just stuck with her the whole time,” Ghalib said.

“She had paid for some cigarettes, went back in, picked up a lighter and said ‘I stole a lighter,’ and just walked out. And it was like — I couldn’t believe it.” “Ball park, that 40-second clip could run about $40,000,” said Ghalib. “Not bad.”

‘This Is What Civilization Has Come To’
For the last few months, Ghalib and dozens of his paparazzi competitors have been staked out around the clock, just outside the gated community where Spears lives. He says Spears is a paparazzi favorite because unlike other stars with regular and mundane daily routines, she is forever unpredictable, and her photos never fail to surprise.

“She’ll get in a car, you think she’s going to get coffee, she’ll drive to Vegas,” Ghalib said. “Or … she’ll go to the airport, she’ll fly to Cabo for two days. So, she is lucrative in that sense.”

In recent weeks, startling images of Spears have been plentiful enough to earn an expert shooter like Ghalib close to $200,000, a potential payoff that creates traffic jams whenever the pop tart departs from her home. Britney Spears has two own children but can not spend time with them. According to the court decision, pop star has not right to bring up them. She was not good for children. She does not understand how to be a good mum. But soon Britney will be an aunt. What do you think: are her nephews lucky? May be she has chance to become a good aunt and then to become a good mother for her own children? We hope she will.

My favorite part of this fiasco is that Britney is going to be an aunt
and possibly even the godmother. Somehow this is scarier than her being
a mom.

At least moms can lose custody if you’re an aunt, you’re always an
aunt and this means Brit will always be around during the holidays.
“Uh-oh, hide the cigarettes, Aunt Britney just pulled into the
driveway!”

But in this situation Britney must listen to her nephews’ mother and not a judge. We hope Britney is a wise woman. The fortune gives her one more chance to learn to be a good mother.

Dressed in the same top she wore the previous evening while grabbing some Thai cuisine, Britney Spears was once again spotted out on her late night routine on Thursday (December 27).

The troubled pop tart made her way to the usual destinations - the Starbucks on Robertson Blvd and a few gas stations. Britney also sped over to a Virgin megastore, only to head home after finding out that it was closed.

Meanwhile, more details of the Piece Of Me singer’s Christmas with sons Jayden James, 1, and Sean Preston, 2, are coming forth. And, as always, there’s drama involved.

A family insider told Page Six, “Britney would not let her boys open the gifts from her mom and dad. Apparently she hid them, and she told [her ex-husband] Kevin [Federline] she might send them back to her parents un-opened.”

Apparently, K-Fed wasn’t too pleased with Brit’s attitude and let her have it during a phone call on Christmas evening.

“Kevin told her to stop acting like a spoiled brat,” the insider said, adding, “He asked her to give them to him and he would let them open them.”

The source continued, “Britney then bragged a lot about what she bought them [Jayden and Sean] just to piss him off, but Kevin expected her to do that. The kids got lots of toys, including some LeapFrog learning goodies and miniature cars.”

Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears’ mother Lynne Spears, treats her daughters like a “piggy bank,” a close family friend has revealed.

Lynne, who is also Jamie Lynn’s manager, was the one who convinced the 16-year-old to confess her pregnancy to OK! magazine.

“Lynne treats her girls like a piggy bank,” Usmagazine.com quoted the family friend, as saying.

“Lynne knew OK! would pay the most. It was her decision,” another source said.

The source added that Lynne kept Jamie Lynn’s older sister Britney out of the loop, fearing she could be a possible threat to the deal.

“They didn’t want her to screw up the deal,” the source said.

Other sources revealed that Jamie Lynn never wanted to be a star, but it was her mother who put her in difficult situations.

“Jamie wanted something different for her life, and her mom put her in situations she didn’t want to be in,” Alexa Nikolas, Jamie Lynn’s Zoey 101 costar, said.

“She never cared about celebrity. She preferred Kentwood (Louisiana),” another family friend said.

Lynne, a former school teacher, made it a point that she received a share of both her daughters’ deals, ever since Britney hit the limelight.

“Lynne got all her money through those girls and loved it when it started rolling in. She’s the only one with a Land Rover in Kentwood,” a source said.

Britney Spears has already pulled a no-show at several hearings, including a pair of mandatory, court-ordered depositions, in her custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline over their two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

She has blamed her absence on everything from anxiety attacks (or so says her unofficial press secretary, Sam Lutfi) to the paparazzi. Legal sources are now saying, though, that if Britney skips the next one, she’s in deep $h!t.

Sources close to the ongoing custody war between Britney and Kevin confirm that the “Gimme More” and “Piece of Me” singer is — once again — scheduled to be deposed by K-Fed’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, the first week in January.

However, as the train wreck mother of two has already blown off over a half-dozen previously scheduled attempts at being deposed by Kaplan — many insiders are convinced that Britney, 26, will be a no-show for this one as well.

The consequences? “She could go to jail for contempt if she refuses to show,” a legal experts told OK! Magazine. “That would be extreme for a child custody hearing, but not outside the realm of possibility given the circumstances.”

More likely, explains the courtroom insider, is the possibility that team Federline could ask the court to impose additional monetary sanctions on Britney Spears, who is already paying most or all of Kevin’s legal costs.

Would jail really be such a terrible thing for Britney right now? It’s probably less rank than some of the gas stations she visits every day… and it’s harder to kill yourself in jail as well, with no belt, shoelaces and the like. Just saying.

Jamie Lynn Spears’ father is “still furious” with his ex-wife Lynne’s decision to cash-in on their 16-year-old daughter’s pregnancy.

Jamie “did not spend Christmas with [Lynne] or Jamie Lynn and instead stayed in LA to work,” a Spears family source tells Usmagazine.com.

“He doesn’t get a dime from his daughters,” the source says. “He busts his ass to take care of himself. That’s why he’s so furious with Lynne.”

Jamie has been working long hours as a private chef to make a living while ex-wife Lynne, as Us Weekly reports in its latest issue (on newsstands now), arranged a $1 million deal with OK! magazine for the story of Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy. Lynne also receives a percentage of her daughters’ salaries.

Usmagazine.com reported last week, per a source close to the family, that Jamie “refused to take any money and ‘profit off of his children.’”

While in LA, Jamie has seen his grandchildren, Sean Preston and Jayden James, the sons of his daughter Britney and her ex-husband Kevin Federline, Us has learned.
