Last night marked the one-year anniversary of Britney Spears‘ (in)famous BALDgate incident, and she and Papa Spears celebrated the occasion by going to dinner at Social Hollywood and debuting hair that looks like it may actually have been touched by a lil’ Pantene. Hallelujah. It would be awesome if they also used a bunch of bad hair puns — “Eat up! That shrimp is hair today, gone tomorrow.” “Sure, you can get the lobster, Hair Majesty.” “Make sure that chicken is the only thing you cut!” — but alas… I suspect the dinner was filled with less laughter, more British accents and heavy sighs.

Similar to finding out about the passing of Princess Diana, I remember the exact moment I saw those pictures of Britney shaving her head. Do you remember it, too? Or do I seriously need to get a grip? (Don’t answer that.) I believe my eloquent response was something along the lines of, “Oh. My. Gawd.”

Everyone has an opinion on Britney Spears. Even Heidi Klum.

But rather than merely trying to sponge off Spears for publicity or money (cough, Alli Sims, Sam Lutfi), supermodel Heidi Klum offers words of encouragement, and says her family would even welcome the troubled star into their home.

“She can call me and come live in our house with us for a couple of months. I would help set her straight,” said Heidi Klum, 34, who was born in Germany, in an interview set to air Monday in her native country.

“I am sorry when a young person gets thrown so off track. She has, of course, lived an extremely wild life,” added Klum.

A Beverly Hills resident, like Britney Spears, Heidi Klum is also mother to very young children (Brit has Jayden James and Sean Preston, ages 1 and 2; Heidi has two boys and a girl, ages 1, 2 and 3, with husband Seal).

Klum believes the pop star could benefit from her stable household.

“I have never been as happy as I am today,” says the Project Runway star. “I have found the man of my life, and we have three great kids. They are all so different and fantastic that it really can’t get better than this.”

An attorney who claims to be Britney Spears’ new lawyer has filed a federal complaint arguing the conservatorship of the singer’s estate violates her civil rights. Jon Eardley, who has practices in New York and Washington, D.C., submitted his legal complaint on behalf of Spears in U.S. District Court on Thursday. Eardley is seeking the ongoing conservatorship case to be moved from Los Angeles Superior Court to a federal court. Spears’ father Jamie was recently appointed conservator of his daughter’s estate - he has temporary control over the Toxic singer’s legal and financial affairs until March 10, 2008. But Eardley tells People.com, “I see the case as a civil rights case. These are issues of confinement. Very serious confinement. Not allowed to contact her friends. Not allowed to use the phone. Not allowed to come and go as you please. Bodyguards controlling you and so forth.”

On Friday, a spokesperson for the office of public information for the Los Angeles Superior Court confirmed the Spears case is still being heard in California: “The state and federal issues would have to be litigated among all interested parties involved in Ms. Spears’ conservatorship. “And at this time there is no change to any of her hearing dates on the calendar in state court. It is our view that all current matters remain in full force and effect.”

Jamie squired his troubled daughter Britney Spears to Club Social in Hollywood for dinner at around 8pm on Saturday night, February 16.

The two were mobbed by paparazzi hoards desperate to get photos of the dolled up pop star.

The situation spun out of control at one point as photogs jostled for vantage positions. A fight broke out leading to the arrest of a belligerent paparazzo.

Meanwhile, John Eardley, who filed legal papers in a federal court, February 14, requesting its intervention since Britney’s rights had been compromised in the L.A. County Court system, claimed to TMZ that Britney herself called him to appoint him as her lawyer.

Eardley is not ready to reveal how he knows Britney. However, he and Britney’s former manager, Sam Lutfi, use the same spokesperson, Michael Sands, who earlier represented Kevin Federline’s laywer Mark Vincent Kaplan.

Eardley acknowledges that Britney hasn’t signed a retainer agreement with him but claims that is only because she is being “held hostage” in her own home.
