Madonna’s husband Guy Ritchie has explained how Britney Spears came to make a cameo appearance in his wife’s new stage show - it was based on a real-life incident.
The pop superstar kicked off her Sticky + Sweet tour in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday (23Aug08) and the concert included a special video appearance from Spears, who is seen dancing in an elevator.
And Ritchie admits that Spears’ role in the show was created after Madonna saw a video of a similar incident.
He says, “Britney in the lift is based on real footage the missus saw of someone stuck in a lift for 48 hours. The dancing is inspired by what happened inside.”

Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael has challenged Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline to a boxing match, to raise money for charity.

Lohan Snr, a former convict, wants the bout to raise money for a cancer charity based near his Long Island, New York home.

Although Federline has yet to be approached, Lohan is already planning his training regime.

He tells Ok! magazine, “Everyone wants me to fight K-fed because he’s a notorious celebrity dad and so am I. It’s for charity.

“It’s serious boxing. You have to go get a trainer. I have to register with the Mature Boxing Association.”

And if Federline says no - he’ll search out another willing celebrity opponent: “I don’t care who it is; it’s for charity. I’ve been beaten up by the press, so I don’t care if I get a few shots by a kid half my age.” Lohan is even trying to pair up his girlfriend Erin in a fight, adding, “They’re trying to match her up with Debbie Gibson.”

“Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year. I’m telling you officially and unequivocally,” KIIS-FM radio show host Ryan Seacrest said is a quote by her manager Larry Rudolph.

“Spears is in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and was never supposed to perform at that show,” he continued.

Even though Britney Spears won’t be in this year’s VMAs as a performer, it doesn’t mean she’ll be avoiding the show. She’s up for 3 VMas of her own, for a total of 17 nominations in her career. The ‘Moonman’ is one award that she’s never won in her career.

Britney Spears will finally team up with her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake for a song on her new album, according to reports.
According to the New York Post newspaper, the former couple were supposed to team up for her last album, but Britney under the influence of friends including Osama Lutfi and Adnan Ghalib — missed her recording session with Timbaland at the legendary producer’s Virginia Beach studio last August. “She just didn’t show up,” a source said at the time.
Spears and Timberlake split up in 2002 after dating for four years. The SexyBack star is currently romancing Hollywood actress Jessica Biel.

The remainder of Britney’s bill is for $60,000 for two months work from Laura Wasser who took over the case in June. She brokered the agreement between Britney and Kevin that saw him retain full custody while the singer has visitation rights.
Phillips claims the case was more complicated because Britney’s father Jamie, as co-conservator of her estate, has control over Britney’s affairs.

R&B singer Ne Yo has forgiven Britney Spears for not using any of his songs on her last album - insisting there is no “animosity” between the pair. Ne Yo penned six tracks for Spears to record for her hit 2007 album Blackout - but not one of the songs made it on to the final version of the LP.
Ryan Seacrest told on his KIIS FM radio show, that he had penned several songs for Spears’ next record, but her team stalled in terms of song selection. They waited so long, in fact, that Ne Yo offered those songs to Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger instead.
“I wrote 6-8 songs for Britney, working closely with her A&R people at her label and then she shaves her head and goes into rehab,” Ne Yo told Seacrest. “When that happened, I lost all contact with her A&R people - they weren’t returning phone calls. That’s when I met Nicole.”
He tells MSNBC.com, “I never met Britney Spears, I can’t have animosity with someone I don’t know. You have way bigger fish to fry, little mama, than me about a couple songs.
“I tried to call her, call her people. They didn’t want to return a phone call, so I said all right, well, I guess I will take these songs that were written for Britney and give them to other people. Time is money. I don’t know what’s going on over there,” he says, “but I think a comeback is possible. She’s got to remind people why they loved her in the first place and get peoples’ minds off her personal life and back on the music”

Pop princess Britney Spears looked once again her stunning self at a charity bash hosted by actor Jim Carrey and girlfriend Jenny McCarthy this week with Dad Jamie putting this transformation down to her daily sex therapy.

“We make sure my princess has sex at least once, sometimes twice a day; it helps relieve the depression and clears her clogged up negative chakras.”

It appears Dad contacted a local male escort agency a month ago after deciding that sex would be the only way of getting his daughter back on track.

It is unclear what kind of sex is employed for the pop idol, but the therapy certainly appears to be doing the trick. The singer is now back in the recording studio learning how to sing again and there are rumours she has started dating.

Six months back the toxic Britney’s condition was so bad that nobody expected her to recover. Hospitalised and heavily sedated, she had become a drug-crazed death-wreck, dogged by controversy.

“I would recommend sex therapy to anyone requiring recovery from a long illness,” continued Jamie. “My daughter is loving it. You can see the happiness in her eyes.”

Jamie have kept no secrets, speaking candidly about the custody battle, what he thinks of Britney’s ex, Kevin Federline, and how his relationship with his daughter is today.

“We’ve grown a lot,” Mr. Spears told OK! magazine. “I’ve been able to come back into my daughter’s life, and that was an adjustment anyway, because I’m an alcoholic and it’s the first time we’ve really been able to share.”

On the custody battle: “It made no sense for that trial to proceed so we worked out an agreement. The agreement says that on Oct. 1 we’ll probably get another overnight, and that will stay in place until the end of the year or the end of the conservatorship.”

On Kevin Federline: “Kevin has a wonderful heart. I don’t agree with giving him more money… He wants them to raise these kids together. Kevin’s heart is right.”

On the conservatorship: “I would hope that it stands until the end of the year, and then we’ll sit back and evaluate where we are at the time, where Britney is at that time.”

Jamie added that while the taking over of the conservatorship by her father was a “major adjustment” for Britney, it’s been a blessing in disguise, and has given them both a second chance to grow together and re-build their father-daughter relationship.

“It’s wonderful. It’s new for both of us,” he said. “She sometimes calls me 50 times a day and asks me things that light my life up. But, like all daughters, she is very manipulative and cunning. So she gets what she wants a lot.

“I do understand that my baby made this monster,” he added. “But when she was down, people took advantage.”
